About Us

The Filthy Mittens have been performing at premier clubs, festivals and corporate events around the Suburbs of Chicago since early 2004. All come from varying musical backgrounds and have played in many other original and cover bands. For a period of time they rocked the west side scene in an original band called Piper Down not knowing they would ultimately reunite down-the-road in Chicago to form Filthy Mittens. Jeff's main influences are Classic Rock and Metal. Bobby has more of a Power Pop leaning and Ron was a dedicated Punk Rocker. A strange mix of musicians to say the least, but, amazingly perfect for an alternative pop/rock cover band. The individual crossover into other styles of music over the years and the collective musical vision of the band makes for an amazing set list today.

Here are a few bands they cover:
Weezer, The Raconteurs, The Killers, Matthew Sweet, U2, Lit, The Police, Radiohead, Kiss, Jet, David Bowie, Kings of Leon, Jayhawks, Coldplay, Elvis Costello, Material Issue, The Cars, Fountains of Wayne, Filter, Spacehog, Tommy TuTone, Franz Ferdinand, Green Day, Everclear, White Stripes, Dandy Warhols, Joe Jackson, Lynard Skynard, ZZ Top, Lemonheads, Cheap Trick, Badfinger,The Beatles, Blur, The Clash, Foo Fighters, Harvey Danger, Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley and Queen

Here are some bands they really dig (but don't necessarily cover):
The Beatles, The Police, The Something Brothers, Spelunkers, Raconteurs, Wilco, Jayhawks, The Clash, The Ramones, Elvis Costello, Black Sabbath, Lynard Skynard, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Cult, The Cars, Pixies, XTC, Decendants, Naked Raygun, Neil Young, Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, The Stooges and on and on...
